It is unlikely for airlines - particularly national-flag carriers - to be profitable in the current situation (excluding Emirates) without lowering the standard, and hence the cost of customer service.
The Americans are lowering their service standards, and as a result UA and AA are both actually making profit. The Europeans on the other hand ,kept their service, and made less money (or had quite a loss). |
